Flaminio completed his studies in contemporary history at University of Rome. After a short career as a journalist, in 2001 he moved to Hamburg, where he started to work with the director Fatih Akin. In 2004, back in Rome, together with Alberto Fanni and Paolo Colombo he founded Dorje Film.
