In Search of Eddie Riff is an album by British musician Andy Mackay, first released on Island Records in 1974. The album was released during a brief hiatus from Roxy Music 's recording schedule. A first version came out in 1974, with nine tracks, the lead single being a jazz cover of " Ride of the Valkyries ".
Edwin Jobson (born 28 April 1955) is an English musician noted for his use of synthesizers. He has been a member of several progressive rock bands, including Curved Air, Roxy Music, U.K. and Jethro Tull. He was also part of Frank Zappa 's band in 1976–77. Aside from his keyboard work Jobson has also gained acclaim for his violin playing.
‘In Search of Eddie Riff’, then, was a project intended to provide Mackay a break from the hectic Roxy schedule and a release from the tensions of the past year.
