Even so, since shutter count increments and can't be reset, it must always be equal or greater than the image count. Example: New camera: Shutter Count 10 = Image Count 10. Reset Image Count, and shoot 10 more pics.

Aug 14, 2023 · Options. 08-14-2023 01:51 PM. The EOS Utility does not provide a way to read Shutter Count. Unlike Nikon, Canon does not save the Shutter Count in the EXIF data of every photo. The bottom line is this. The most reliable way to get an accurate Shutter Count is to send the body to Canon for a cleaning service, and have them read the count for you.

There is a freeware program that will pull up the count. Windows is EOSInfo, simply connect the camera to your computer using a cable and run the program.
Jun 28, 2022 · Use the button with the blue arrow on it to view the image. When that is displayed you should see one of the screens in the image below. If the shutter count (as indicated by the red arrow on the diagram) does not show, then press the Info button (see image below) on the back of the camera until it does.

The good thing with R6 is that it also saves a total shot count in Makernotes. With RP I believe you will only get a release count, see the section about RP at SPT.

Jan 20, 2021 · The shutter count bug I am talking about is something difference and as I wrote, will not happen before 2048. When you reach 2048 you can try it. Take 10 pictures, remove the battery and check the shutter count after that. 5D II stores the shutter count in RAM before saving it to eeprom.
