Jan 11, 2022 · Thanks! Early Transcendentals is the way to go. This is the book that made James Stewart a very wealthy guy. Prior to Stewart writing that book, virtually every calculus book used a sequence that is now known as "late transcendentals". They didn't have a term for it back then, because they didn't need one. It was the only way to go.

Single Variable and Multivariable - Sort of like the full book split into two volumes. So all else being equal, I should go for one of the "full" books.

Dec 29, 2020 · If you want to study any higher math and physics a most authors will assume you have studied a combination of calculus and linear algebra. Or if you want my other personal biases you could go in a different direction and get a book like A Book of Abstract Algebra by Charles Pinter.

So, I know some fundamentals of Calculus like evaluating limits, derivatives and simple integrals. I understand how to use shaded are regions, etc.
Jun 21, 2020 · Stewart is the best all the way through multi variable. Boyce and DiPrima's Calculus was the Gold Standard at RPI. Far superior to Stewart (Stewart isn't a bad book, it's a pretty decent Calc text -- but it's not Boyce and DiPrima). I strongly suggest you give it a look.
