  2. Sep 1, 2012 · L (leakage) is well-defined, it's the inductance you measure at the primary with secondary shorted. That's one definition of the leakage inductance. It seems that for power electronics, most people think it's acceptable to use that "lumped" leakage inductance instead of considering primary and secondary leakage inductance separately.

  3. Dec 8, 2022 · 1,658. Hi all, I've got successfully extracted parasitic inductor from my layout. Calibre PEX also extracted mutual inductance between the inductors. They are both present in extracted netlist. My problem is, I cannot map the mutual inductance into a cell view (calibreview) because the mapping file (calview.cellmap) doesn't contain its definition.

  4. Oct 23, 2010 · Thanks. Now I'm trying to use the regular definition of Q as -imag(y11)/real(y11) to get Q at resonance. However, isn't imag(y11) = 0 at resonance? How do you evalulate Q this way? edit: Nevermind, I figured this out.

  5. Dec 18, 2007 · It's only going to be valid at one frequency, so if it varies a lot with frequency you'll need to modify Xdc and resimulate at each frequency. The full version of Sonnet has a kinetic inductance metal definition under the "General" metal type, but it's grayed out for Sonnet Lite, so it must not be available for the free version.

  6. May 8, 2013 · To really get to inductance (say for a solenoid -type coil) L = μ*area* (N^2)/length.. ..where N is the number of turns and L is the inductance, and μ is the permeability. The explanation of how this is derived, and why it depends on the square of the number of turns is given in Wikipedia about 2/3 through under "Inductance of a Solenoid ...

  7. Jun 13, 2011 · When current flows in both windings, the magnetic fluxes of the two windings are added: Ф'=2*L*N*I. Consequently, the equivalent inductance of one winding is equal to L'=2*L, where L - the inductance of a single winding with the other open. Or one can - the "total" inductance is equal to 4*L, hence the inductance of each winding is equal to ...

  8. Oct 13, 2011 · You select capacitors for a resonance frequency around the intended operation frequency, connect the transformer in a (preferably series) resonance circuit to a generator and tune for resonance (maxim voltage across L and C). Repeat for all inductance values you want to measure. May 16, 2014. #3. M.

  9. Apr 20, 2021 · I want to model a center tapped transformer and use it in my circuits. The spice netlist of my transformer is like this: L1 in1 VDD 0.25u L2 VDD in2 0.25u L3 out1 out2 1u The schematic is also attached. In LTSpice there is a command for mutual inductance definition. "K1 L1 L2 L3 0.99" However the command does not work on Cadence Virtuoso or ...

  10. Jun 8, 2017 · Under the assumption that the mutual inductances are small compared to the self-inductances of the coils, then first of all, use stoy () function built in to ADS in order to convert the obtained S parameters to the desired y parameters. And. -imag (1/Y12)/w (where w =2*PI*freq) does not represent the mutual inductance between the wires at ports ...

  11. Nov 29, 2005 · I confused with the various types of inductance found in the text. For example: 1) magnetising inductance. 2) self-inductance. 3) leakage inductance. 4) mutual inductance. 5) air gap inductance. 6) synchronous inductance. Hope that someone could help to explain the relationship, if applicable, between the various inductances listed above.
