May 1, 2023 · When I plug the 3.5mm jack in to any jack on my pc, be it my motherboard or my actual case it sounds muffled and muddy like it has too much bass. When I plug my USB headset back in it sounds fine. I'm not sure why it sounds muffled as the case is under a year old and the motherboard I just bought and put in under a month ago.

Another way to keep sound and video playing is to first start the video before entering Teams call. In that case the video keeps playing with more muffled sound and does not automatically pause itself. It might be something to do with windows settings, but in my opinion Teams does not define itself as background running app.

It’s like Zoom or Teams or Google Meet is cancelling the background music except for the singing or speaking.
Oct 5, 2020 · I have a headset that works fine on another device, but for some reason on my desktop, no matter what port I use, all the audio from the desktop gets played through the microphone and the microphone is really quiet and muffled. The only way you can hear anything from the microphone is boosting the volume to the maximum allowed.

Jan 29, 2022 · Sometimes sounds are muffled because people tried different audio drivers to fix unrelated issues in the past and left some latent feature switches turn on/off in some registry key hidden away. Then latent switches get turn on for no reason and you end up with 2 EQ's or 2 environmentals.

Jan 4, 2021 · Team meeting participants tell me that my audio comes out terrible at their end - really muffled. They can just make out my speech but it is very hard to decipher. Same issue when using a headset. I am using a HP all in one desktop pc. I have checked that microphone boost is on max and latest mic drivers are installed. Anyone had this issue?
