The circular movements could be described using "roll". You can turn your head to either side (but not around). "Twirl" sounds far too energetic for this type of exercise.

I dont think we have a specific word for the action of moving your tongue around your mouth in a circular motion, so I think swirl is an understandable option in this context.
Oct 14, 2017 · Banned. It has a different meaning. You normally twirl something through something else, not along, so it doesn't seem to fit that sentence. Is it correct to use " roll " and " twirl " with "tongue" ? Yes, if they fit the context. For example, you can use "write" with "pen" but you can't say "Write the pen up", can you?
