In this period drama, set in Madrid in 1720, Clara, high-born but without means, obtains a position as assistant cook in the palace of the Duke of Castamar, Don Diego. She has agoraphobia and is afraid to go outside the kitchen.
In 1720, Diego, the duke of Castamar, is convinced by King Felipe to try and move on from his former lover, Alba, who died 20 months earlier. This coincides with the arrival of a new assistant cook, Clara Belmonte, to Castamar.
