Tarla Dalal (3 June 1936 – 6 November 2013) was an Indian food writer, chef, cookbook author and host of cooking shows. [1] [2] Her first cook book, The Pleasures of Vegetarian Cooking, was published in 1974. Since then, she wrote over 100 books and sold more than 10 million copies.
Born in Pune, India, Mrs. Tarla Dalal moved to Bombay after her marriage. In 1966, she started cookery classes from her residence. Her classes became a phenomenal success, with a long waiting-list of students wanting to join them.
In 2002, her ready-to-cook food mix known as Tarla Dalal food mix also became famous. She was tech-savvy. She liked using the social media platforms like YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
