One of the few "free" (to park) state beaches along this stretch of coast. Great tide pools at low tide, plenty of beach areas to spread out, and fun rocks to explore / climb. There are a few picnic tables for eating, and while the bathrooms are pit toilets, at least they have those. Read more.
Lies along Pacific Coastline, Pescadero State Beach is reachable via State Route 1. It is about a mile-long shoreline connecting to San Gregorio and Pomponio state beaches. During low tides and calm waters, you can do your 10K steps challenge and walk the long beach, but remember, never turn your back on the ocean.
