  4. Nov 12, 2016 · The Type 1 is the most common crank. It was used in 90% of Laverda 750cc bikes. Only very few Type 3 cranks were ever produced, and these were fitted into late Formulas. The Type 1 has a small, but important, design fault. The end of the crank, which carries the pickup rotor used by the crank position sensor, is only 10mm in diameter.

Later models had an additional hole at the bottom of the primary case. When I replaced the clutch plates in my brother's 3C I neglected to re-fill the primary case with oil ...

  7. May 21, 2007 · A bit of advice please. I have just removed the fairing from my 1980 Jota and am fitting a standard indicator/headlamp setup. Everything is fine except that I can't get the new CEV indicators to work. I have run the black wire from the indicators to the live side of the connector blocks that the...

  8. Aug 5, 2020 · Start the engine. You should have about 40 A/C volts, more or less. If much less..you have an charging coil problem." Standard test of any alternator (without inbuilt r/r), you have to rev it up to fairly high revs to see what it puts out, not just start it. The Lav alternators at that time were pitiful.

  9. Mar 26, 2023 · I have a 1977 Laverda 1200, that has been set up to Mirage Specs. All has been going well until it refused to run during a ride ( with my wife on board ... she forgives me for having my daughter pick her up) I thought it was the coils. I replaced them .. nice strong spark. ... tried to start... new fuel, new plugs... backfires our of carbies. I ...

  10. Sep 9, 2024 · Rear shocks were pretty ugly so were put to one side and replaced with some lovely Nitron units from DAM Laverda. Redax supplied some fancy new pistons and a whole lot of other bits and pieces. Fork stations were bent so these were straightened by Greg Ball Motorcycle Engineering at the same time as the rebore.
