Jun 11, 2021 · I preferred Joan Fontaine more and thought she was honest and genuine and even felt sorry for her because I thought she was treated unfairly and disliked by her mother, sister and some of her peers. Until I saw some interview of Joan where she insulted a fellow unknown guest and another interview with Tony Perkins where she embarrassed him during the interview.

Dec 30, 2021 · Vivien Leigh In Rebecca. I saw Vivien’s and Joan’s screen tests, and I must say Joan was the better choice to play Rebecca. She was much more vulnerable with her Plain Jane looks which were just right for Max’s wife. Joan had that wholesome, gawky, innocence that perfectly matched Olivier’s overpowering looks and authority.
