A very simple Google search will tell you not only was he the primary writer, but he was the creator of the show. The whole show was pretty much his vision. You seem really hung up about Lost. You know that show was created before Lindelof was involved.

He has also written and produced some films. Lost is easily the biggest part of his portfolio and he co-created and then wrote it for its entire run.

As for politics, as others pointed out, Watchmen is an inherently political story and an adaptation/exploration of that world that didn't acknowledge the politics would feel very false.

  9. Abrams, sure. But Lindelof has at the very least tried to expand the ip in the case of Watchmen. He gets blamed for Prometheus when he was just the last name on a list of six. The dude has his faults, but his career has been a lot more interesting and creative than that of Abrams. Also, Lindelof isn't a director.
