A very simple Google search will tell you not only was he the primary writer, but he was the creator of the show. The whole show was pretty much his vision. You seem really hung up about Lost. You know that show was created before Lindelof was involved.

Directors change each block (1-2 episodes) and even writers change each episode, but the showrunner (which would be the head writer, Damon Lindelof for example) has complete creative control over the entire series. They are “the big boss” in television.

He claims that he wants to tell stories which are ambiguous, as if that's enough, as if that defends the bullshit terribleness of his writing. As if the only possible complaint one could have about his work is that they didn't understand it.

Damon was fixated on that idea and figured that Walt manifested that polar bear into reality from the powers of the island. He thought that a psychic kid was a great explanation for why the others would want him.
Jun 26, 2020 · TrueOrPhallus. •. Lost had six seasons and 121 episodes. The Leftovers had 3 seasons and 28 episodes. Watchmen was one season with 9 episodes. He has also written and produced some films. Lost is easily the biggest part of his portfolio and he co-created and then wrote it for its entire run.

May 22, 2018 · Lindelof is trying to ensure that the broadest possible audience is able to connect with his work. As for politics, as others pointed out, Watchmen is an inherently political story and an adaptation/exploration of that world that didn't acknowledge the politics would feel very false.
Abrams, sure. But Lindelof has at the very least tried to expand the ip in the case of Watchmen. He gets blamed for Prometheus when he was just the last name on a list of six. The dude has his faults, but his career has been a lot more interesting and creative than that of Abrams. Also, Lindelof isn't a director.
