Jun 16, 2024 · It looks like it's a 2-3 hour train or bus ride to izmit(?) Does anyone know please which train station to use? Also, is there an option of a ferry ride - even somewhere in the general area of Izmit (possibly needing a bus to finish the journey)?

It doesn’t have much to offer in terms of sightseeing but it’s a lovely city where one could easily spend a whole day. Being only 100 km away from Istanbul’s old town, reaching Izmit from any part of Istanbul is easy too.
