Archie Moore (born Archibald Lee Wright; December 13, 1913 – December 9, 1998) [1] was an American catch wrestler and professional boxer and the longest reigning World Light Heavyweight Champion of all time (1952 – 1962). He had one of the longest professional careers in the history of the sport, competing from 1935 to 1963.
Moore came on in the fifth to even matters. Archie came on in the sixth to gain the lead as he landed with both hands. In the seventh Moore worked Williams against the ropes and dropped him for the full count with a smashing right that had Williams dazed for many minutes after the fight."
