Rajeev Motwani (Hindi: राजीव मोटवानी , 24 March 1962 – 5 June 2009) was an Indian American professor of Computer Science at Stanford University whose research focused on theoretical computer science. He was a special advisor to Sequoia Capital. He was a winner of the Gödel Prize in 2001.

Jun 8, 2009 · Many hundreds of us at Google were fortunate to have been educated, advised, and inspired by Professor Rajeev Motwani. Six of us were his PhD students and very many others (including our founders) were advised by or took courses from him.
Rajeev Motwani was a pre-eminent theoretical computer scientist of his generation, a technology thought leader, an insightful venture capitalist, and a mentor to some of the most influential entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley in the first decade of the 21st century.
