Kiichi Miyazawa (宮澤 喜一, Miyazawa Kiichi, 8 October 1919 – 28 June 2007) was a Japanese politician who served as Prime Minister of Japan from 1991 to 1993. He was a member of the National Diet of Japan for over 50 years.
The first and second series tell the story of Kiichi Miyazawa known as "Kiibou", a young boy training in a fictional martial art known as Nadashinkage-ryuu – "the Art of Life and Death". In the third series of the manga the main protagonist is Ryuusei Nagaoka – the son of Kiryuu Miyazawa.
Miyazawa Kiichi was the prime minister of Japan from 1991 to 1993. Born into a family of politicians, Miyazawa graduated in law from Tokyo Imperial University in 1941 and soon secured a civilian position in the finance ministry (1942–52). In 1953 he was elected to the Diet (parliament) and in 1962.
