Biography. Muiz-ud-Din Qaiqabad was the son of the Sultan of Bengal, Nasiruddin Bughra Khan, and Kotwal Fakhr-ud-Din of Delhi chose Muiz-ud-Din to succeed Ghiyas-ud-Din Balban as Sultan of the Delhi Sultanate in 1287. Muiz-ud-Din indulged in wine and women during his reign, and he appointed Jalal-al-Din Khalji as the commander of his military.
