Rajeev Kumar PPM IPS (born 30 July 1966) is an Indian police officer and bureaucrat, who is serving as the Director General of West Bengal Police, since July 2024. Previously he served in the same post from December 2023 until was removed by Election Commission of India on March 2024. Prior to his office, he is also additional chief secretary of Information Technology of West Bengal Government since 2023.
Rajeev Kumar is a former Director General of Police of the state of Jharkhand. He held highly responsible positions during his career. He is a 1991 batch IPS officer. He was appointed as the DGP Jharkhand in the year 2013 and served for two years thereafter . In the year 1997, he was awarded the President's Police Medal for Meritorious services and in the year 2014, he was also awarded the President's Police Medal for Distinguished services.
