Winchester College is a boarding school for boys in Years 9 – 13. The Sixth Form welcomes girls and boys as day pupils and is preparing for the entry of girls as boarders when construction of two new boarding houses is complete. It was founded by William of Wykeham in 1382 and is one of the world’s most famous and distinguished schools.
Winchester is home to exceptional talent and achievement across many activities, but it is also about trying new pursuits. Sixth Form pupils lead the many clubs and societies on offer. These include a diverse mix driven by pupils' individual passions, such as charity fundraising, sustainable fashion, journalism, protecting the natural environment, coding, entrepreneurship, debating, and design technology.
2023 A-level Results. The College is delighted with another year of strong results in A-level examinations. 40.7% of grades were at A* and 77.9% were A*/A. 23% of the pupils in the year group secured at least three A* grades, of whom 15 pupils achieved four A* or more. 57% of the year group achieved straight As or better at A-level.
