Norwalk was settled in 1649, incorporated September 1651, and named after the Algonquin word noyank, meaning "point of land", or more probably from the Native American name "Naramauke". Pleasant, pretty place. We really enjoyed exploring this small island - we saw plenty of wildlife, looked through the telescope, and had lunch in the picnic area. We couldn't go up in the actual tower, but it's still a pleasant place to explore. The staff were very informative and answered our questions.
