The International 2021 (originally named The International 2020) was the tenth iteration of Dota 2's flagship annual championship. Hosted by Valve Corporation, it took place at the National Arena in Bucharest, Romania. The tournament began on 7 October 2021 with the Group Stage and closed on 17 October 2021 with the Grand Finals, where Team Spirit became champions after defeating PSG.LGD in the Grand Finals. The International 2019 was the concluding tournament of the 2018-19 season of Dota Pro Circuit and the ninth annual edition of The International. The tournament was held on Chinese soil for the first time, at Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai. Following the previous year format, a point system based on official sponsored Majors and Minors was used to determine the twelve invites to The International.
