The Emoji Movie isn't bad, but it isn't great, either. It's "meh." Kids will definitely enjoy the colorful characters, easy-to-follow story, and potty humor ("we're number two!" the poop emoji and his son exclaim). Young viewers are also sure to catch the movie's positive messages about teamwork, friendship, and being yourself.
I know all the hate surrounding this movie. I rated this movie a 4 star, even though I generally hate emojis as they are childish. A person who hates Apple, for example, will probably hate the movie 'Jobs'. After removing myself of that biasness, I found the 'Emoji movie' to be quite good. The plot is forgettable, but the animations amare superb.
