I am S. Balachander. I am an Indian classical musician, and a performing artist of Chandraveena. Chandraveena has been designed to reflect my musical ideas and identity. I play the Chandraveena according to the principles of Indian Raga system and the philosophy of Maarga Sangeet. Here is a selection of my recordings and concert videos. Do check them out! But Balachander was an exception, and, unknowingly, a biographer’s delight! Halfway through his career as a vainika, he made it a point to collect all the assorted materials related to his life and career and paste them in scrapbook ‘albums’, thus building up an enormous corpus of information about himself.
Having been exposed to music of all forms, styles at home since childhood, it would only be natural to be drawn to music as my life and career. After Masters in Physics and Diploma in Computer Science, along with a corporate career, I continued to study Indian Classical Music.
