The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) is one of the higher Institutes of Technology in the country set up with the objectives of making available facilities for higher education, research and training in various fields of Science and Technology.
IIT Bombay is one of the few institutions in India that can offer PMRF Fellowship to meritorious Ph.D. candidates at the time of admission into the Ph.D. program. PMRF fellows get a monthly stipend of Rs 70,000 along with an annual contingency grant of Rs 2 Lakh.
• PhD admissions are open to those with a Bachelor’s or a Master’s degree in electrical engineering or related areas. • A valid GATE score is necessary for those without a Master’s degree. Those who have graduated from an IIT with a CPI above 8.0 can be considered without a Master’s degree or a GATE score.

Admission to the Ph.D. Program in the Department of Physics, IIT Bombay for the semester starting in July-2021 will be conducted online. The admission process is the same as followed in previous years.
