Devi Sri Prasad (born Gandham Sriprasad; 2 August 1979), also known by his initials DSP, [2] is an Indian composer, singer and lyricist. [3] [4] He is known for his works predominantly in Telugu cinema and Tamil cinema.
He composed score and soundtrack of the 1999 Telugu film Devi, making his debut in the film music industry. In his 24-year-long career, he has composed and produced film scores, soundtracks and songs for more than 100 films in various languages, predominantly in Telugu and Tamil languages.
He began his musical-direction career in 1999 in the Telugu film Devi. Devi Sri Prasad was a disciple of the renowned mandolinist, U. Srinivas, and he has directed music for dozens of South Indian films, including several box-office successes.
DSP as he is popularly known scored music for almost every Top Movie Star in South India and his collaborations with all of them have resulted in some scintillating music.
