The Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan was founded by Dr Kanhaiyalal Maneklal Munshi (Popularly known as Munshiji) on 7 th November 1938. Munshiji is blessed enough to have Sri Aurobindo as his direct teacher. The Bardoli Satyagraha Movement in 1928 drew Munshiji into the vortex of the Indian independence movement and got attached to Gandhiji and Sardar Patel.
Kulapati K. M. Munshi founded Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan in 1938 with the blessings of Mahatma Gandhi. The Bhavan was established around the time when freedom was not in doubt; the question was how soon. With freedom round the corner, people were concerned about the New India that would emerge soon.
