I first saw the movie in early 2007, so it brought back many memories--"Smokey and the Bandit" was in general release at the time, Julie Andrews appeared in Blake Edwards' "10" the year before "Little Miss Marker", and in "S.O.B." the year after (wherein she briefly bares her breasts for the audience in a fit of exasperation) so LMM represents a clear break between the 70s and 80s for ME.

Mar 21, 2020 · The 1980 version of Little Miss Marker is actually the third remake of 1934’s Little Miss Marke r that starred Shirley Temple. When you view it as that, it makes a bit more sense. Even though I have never seen the original, this feels like a script lifted from that time period where movies were truly made as vehicles for a specific star.
