Filmways Pictures was a film studio that was a division of Filmways Television that was founded in 1980 from the acquisition of American International Pictures in 1979 and was folded into Orion Pictures in 1982. Filmways had been producing films, prior to their acquisition of AIP, since 1967 and also owned film distributor Sigma III Corporation.
