May 3, 2023 · Since Vetrimaaran’s debut as a director in 2007 with the Dhanush starter Polladhavan, the filmmaker and the actor have joined hands multiple times, also for bankrolling films. Following Polladhavan, Dhanush played the lead role in three more Vetrimaaran films — Aadukalam (2011), Vada Chennai (2018), and Asuran (2019) — all of which went on to become milestone films in Tamil cinema history.
