Nov 19, 2003 · In this article, we presented a practical implementation approach for a W-CDMA RAKE receiver in a four-ALU DSP. Based on the above estimates of MIPS requirement for RAKE processing, we can say that approximately 171 MIPS are needed for four channels for RAKE receiver, leaving 129 MIPS free for other processing on the proposed DSP.
