Ranga Shankara is Theatre Alive! Ranga Shankara is the definitive space for quality theatre in Bangalore. From the time it opened its doors in October 2004, Ranga Shankara has developed into one of India’s nerve centres of theatre.
Ranga Shankara is one of Bangalore's well known theatres. It is located in the south Bangalore area of J.P Nagar and is run by the Sanket Trust. The auditorium, which opened in 2004, was envisioned by Arundathi Nag, in remembrance of her late husband, Shankar Nag, who was a renowned actor in the Kannada film industry.
A signature Ranga Shankara event, Ranga Ugadi celebrates Kannada literature. Typically, each year showcases one literary giant with plays, poetry, songs, short stories of the writer brought to centrestage. Conceptualised by our Artistic Director S Surendranath, Ranga Ugadi brings together the theatre and artiste community in a beautiful manner.
