    • Explore Odongdo. The 317 islands in Yeosu make it sound impossible to explore properly. However, note that only 49 of those islands are inhabited. Of those 49, Odongdo is by far the most convenient and accessible to explore.
    • Explore Yi Sun Shin Square & Visit the Life-Size Replica of the ‘Turtle Ships’ Yi Sun Shin Square is the closest thing you’ll get to visiting a proper historical site in Yeosu.
    • Explore the World Expo. The World Expo is located just outside of the Yeosu train station, so if you have a bit of time, it’s worth checking out. There are a few different features of the World Expo, however, some standout ones include the Memorial Hall and the Big-O Show.

    • Walk around the Expo. I’m personally not that big of a fan of the Expo, especially compared to everything else in Yeosu, but it is a fun area right outside the train station if you want to visit.
    • Walk over to Odongdo. While Yeosu is home to many islands, Odongdo (오동도) is by far the most accessible as you can walk right over from the port. The best thing to do is simply walk around the island and check out all the random, hidden spots.
    • Visit a Life Size Replica of the Turtle Ships. Down in the main harbor, about 1-1.5km from the train station is the big Yi Sun Shin Park. There you can see one of the famous turtle ships or geokbukseon (거복선) and even get on and poke around.
    • Check out Yeosu’s beaches. There are quite a few beaches to choose from, but the main ones are: Jangdeung (장등) Jangdeung is pretttty secluded and far out of the main part of the city.
