Feb 12, 2015 · The subject of 500px comes up often enough in online conversation I thought it would be beneficial to write down some of the issues I’ve had over the years and communicate why I no longer participate in sharing, voting, or viewing there.
- 500px which seems to be exactly what I was looking for: share your photos, have feedbacks, find photography inspiration since it is a photography-oriented website, and seems to be a "younger Flickr" (so maybe more people interactions). And the contests seems interesting challenges!
- Beautiful Interface. 500px has one of the best interfaces, even after comparing with Facebook, Google+, Flickr. It is well-designed, unobtrusive and simple.
- Wider Reach. 500px’s “Pulse” is the best thing happened for a photographer on social media. “Pulse” of a photo is a score on the scale of 0-100, calculated by 500px.
- Amazing Portfolio. 500px’s default profile page is so beautiful that you actually don’t need to have a portfolio page. However, if you wish to have a separate portfolio, last thing you would want is to upload your same photos on some other site which can be really time-consuming.
- Marketplace. As the name suggests, it’s a marketplace where you can sell your photos. Cool thing about Market is that, anyone can create their personal store on 500px.
Mar 3, 2013 · Leaving a comment is probably the best way for this to happen as your name appears right under the other user’s photo. You can set 500px to notify you by e-mail when someone favors a photo, but not when a photo is liked. The iPad and iPhone apps can also notify you when someone likes a photo.
Feb 2, 2020 · Why? Because 500px users seem to be located mostly in Europe, Asia and Russia. I get a few comments here and there on my photos, even if they don’t get too much traction. One of my posted photo gets upgraded to the Upcoming dynamic gallery On photo galleries. Contrary to Flickr’s Albums, 500px use the term Galleries to group pictures together.
