It was formed by 20th Century Fox and Asia's STAR TV (later in 2011 as Star India, now known as Disney Star; both News Corporation subsidiaries at the time) as Fox Star Studios in 2008 to distribute any film from 20th Century Fox in India or produce Bollywood hits such as My Name is Khan.
