One of the best botanical gardens in Singapore is the National Orchid Garden which spreads over 3 hectares in the Singapore Botanic Gardens. It is Singapore’s first UNESCO world heritage site. The National Orchid Garden boasts over 1,000 types of orchids and more than 2,000 hybrids of more species of orchids.
Its display area has increased from 350m 2 to 760m 2, and features a selection of unique, uncommon or award-winning hybrids and species from the speciality breeding stock of orchids from the National Orchid Garden’s collection.
If the Botanic Gardens are the jewel in Singapore’s crown, then surely the National Orchid collection is the central diamond. It is absolutely incredible. Whilst entry to the Botanic Gardens is free, there is a small charge( with concessions) to visit the magnificent orchid collection.
