Cluster University of Srinagar is a State University and has been established under “The Srinagar and Jammu Cluster Universities Act, 2016″ passed by the Jammu and Kashmir State Legislature on July 8, 2016. Two Cluster Universities in the State are similar to University of Kashmir/Jammu.
The Cluster University of Srinagar (CUS) has been created by pooling the resources of five existing colleges of Amar Singh College, Sri Pratap College, Govt. College for Women, M. A. Road, Govt. Degree College, Bemina and Govt. College of Education.
It is a cluster of five colleges of the Srinagar city. It has been established under The Srinagar and Jammu Cluster Universities Act, 2016 together with Cluster University of Jammu and is an initiative of the centrally sponsored scheme, Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA), to create new universities through upgradation of existing colleges and conversion of colleges in a cluster.
Cluster University of Srinagar, established in 2016, is located in Srinagar city of Jammu and Kashmir. There are multiple courses offered by the University at the Undergraduate and graduate levels in different fields including Engineering, Science, Humanities and Liberal Arts, Commerce and Management and Education.
