Novo Mesto (pronounced [ˈnɔːʋɔ ˈmeːstɔ] ⓘ; Slovene: Novo mesto; also known by alternative names) is a city on a bend of the Krka River in the City Municipality of Novo Mesto in southeastern Slovenia, close to the border with Croatia.
Novo Mesto is the centre of Dolenjska, and it has an archaeological heritage of world importance. The town of situlae is surrounded by gentle wine-growing hills, where the typical Cviček wine is produced, and the mysterious Gorjanci Hills.

- Go to the Old Gothic Cathedral of St Nicholas. The stone church of St Nicolas is located on a hill above the Krka River. The original church had been built before the year of 1428 and in 1576 the building was reconstructed after it was damaged in a fire.
- Pass Kandija Bridge. Riverside Novo Mesto received its first bridge at the start of the 16th century. The bridge was wooden and spanned between today’s Pugljeva and Resslova streets.
