Lewes Beach Is a quiet, flat bay beach with small waves. That makes it great for little ones (or anyone) who likes to be in calm water. The main part of the beach gets crowded, and parking can be tough during the season. There are fewer people early in the morning, or after dinner, if you were just there for some quiet, relaxing time.

The most beautiful beach in Lewis is Ardroil beachin Uig on the West coast of Lewis. Ardroil beach is also often called Uig Sands which is a good name since at low tide the whole of Uig bay is sand.
Tide times matter less for the beaches on Lewis than for the beaches on Harris. Two other beaches where tide really matters are Seilebost on Isle of Harris and Luskentyre on Harris. Having said that, try to be at Ardroil beach close to low tide.

Great beach on the harbor. Lewes beach is less crowded than the nearby beaches on the ocean. There are lots of beautiful sailboats on the weekends. Drive directly to the beach on E. Savannah St. There are nice public parking lots where you can park for a fee. These include public rest rooms.
