Shool (transl. The Spike) is a 1999 Indian Hindi -language action crime film directed by Eeshwar Nivas. Written and produced by Ram Gopal Varma, it portrays the politician-criminal nexus and the criminalization of politics in Bihar and its effect on the life of an honest police officer.
Shool is an excellent crime drama about corruption and murky politics in India. This plot isn't anything new, but what makes the movie work is the mind-blowing performance of Manoj Bajpai as an honest cop trying to do his job in a corrupt environment.

Shool is inarguably one of the best cop movies ever made in India.The movie is successful in portraying the corrupt nature of policemen and the evils/anti socials/politicians presiding in India. The storyline is more relevant nowadays.
