Aug 4, 2022 · Curseforge is very safe, the website is the main website for hosting mods although the Curseforge App has a few bugs and uses lots of performance so I recommend you don't use the app. Yes its safe but there app has a few bugs. It's safe, but alternatives like PolyMC and gd launcher are better.

  5. Sep 30, 2023 · Yes it's fine. There are some talks of fake mods being uploaded but if you just download modpacks you will be perfectly fine. There was malware, and a security hole or two, not a virus. If you're going to freak out, at least find out what you're freaking out about.

  7. Oct 2, 2021 · Both CurseForge and MultiMC are trusted and safe. CurseForge is owned by Overwolf, which is a trusted company partners like Intel and Ubisoft. MultiMC is also completely safe, and in fact this is the launcher I mainly use instead of the vanilla launcher. If you really don't trust MultiMC, take a look at it's source code here.

Its adware, not malware, if anything. It’s Safe it’s just annoying bc it sets itself into Auto start and overwolf may Auto set overlays that are useless and annoying.

  9. Aug 30, 2022 · Cross-platform because Mac players also deserve some love. I ended up using not one, but 2 add-on managers : 1. CurseForge Standalone client. This is the new cross-platform client for CurseForge that doesn't run on the Overwolf framework. It's currently in alpha but works as good (if not even better) than the Overwolf-based app.

  10. Nov 15, 2022 · honestly I didn't have high hopes for curseforge as someone who plays minecraft and gets their mods from there. Their system can be very confusing on what works with what game version. We will see as new sims updates release how easy it is to use still.
