May 15, 2005 · Mahipal was a Bollywood actor of yesterdays best known for the movies, Navrang directed by V. Shantaram in 1959 and Parasmani (1963) directed by Babubhai Mistry. Though he has played lead hero in numerous movies in the late 1950’s and early 1960’s, he is still remembered for Bollywood classics – Navrang and Parasmani.
Hailing from Jodhpur, Mahipal Bhandari went on to become one of the most successful heroes of mythologicals and fantasies in post – Second World War Hindi cinema. A key figure in the history of the Hindi B-movie, he would play a variety of roles from Lord Vishnu to Aladdin in his storied career.
Mahipal was born on 24 November 1919 in Jodhpur, State of Jodhpur, British India. He was an actor, known for Sampoorna Ramayana (1961) , Tulsidas (1954) and Shree Ganesh (1962) . He died on 15 May 2005 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.
