  3. His characters, even in Neverwhere, just feel like quirky cardboard cutouts to me. It’s consistent. They’re cartoon puppets that I can see the author pulling the strings of, and it’s like that for almost everything he writes.

  5. Neverwhere is one of my all-time favorite books. The BBC series was...ambitious, but really suffered from a limited budget and low production values. I would love to see a big screen adaption of Neverwhere. Done right, it would be a masterpiece just like the book.
