Huntsville is a town in Weber County, Utah, United States. The population was 608 at the 2010 census. It is located in Ogden Valley. It is part of the Ogden–Clearfield, Utah Metropolitan Statistical Area, as well as the Ogden Valley census county division.
Huntsville is located twelve miles east of Ogden City up Ogden Canyon. Its elevation is just under 5,000 feet; the 2010 census showed a population of 717 in the town itself. In 1825 Peter Skene Ogden came from the Bear Lake region and camped and trapped in the area.
- Mountain Trails. Cruising past snow warning signs, this pleasing route took me deep into the mountains dotted with foot and hoof trails snaking through valleys and around a pristine lake.
- Pineview Reservoir. The perfect place for a pleasant break was a boat ramp parking area on Pineview Lake with easy access for fishing, kayaking, or hanging out on the shore.
- Eden. In the shadow of Powder Mountain, the 828 population of Eden swells in the winter as a popular ski resort. In the summer, the town’s name aptly describes the amazing scenery.
- Shooting Star Saloon. Considered the oldest bar west of the Mississippi River, the Shooting Star Saloon is hard to miss. Established in 1879, this “hole-in-the-wall” bar covers its walls with taxidermy animals and serves mainly burgers, chips, and beer.
Huntsville Town is home to resturants, a library, a gorgeous park, beaches, an ice skating rink (in the winter months), and even an observatory. We are also home to one of the oldest bars west of the Mississippi.

It's tucked up in Ogden Valley, surrounded by mountains, and it has plenty to see and do year-round.
