Sameer Nigam founded PhonePe in 2015 and serves as its Chief Executive Officer. Before PhonePe, he served as the SVP Engineering and VP Marketing at Flipkart. His Flipkart journey started in 2011 when the company acquired his earlier startup - Mime360, a digital media distribution platform.
PhonePe's founder Sameer Nigam was appointed as the CEO of the company. In August 2016, the company partnered with Yes Bank to launch a UPI-based mobile payment app, based on the government-backed UPI platform. In January 2018, the app garnered ten million downloads.
