Regarded as one of the best batsmen of the 1960s, Rohan Kanhai represented West Indies in 79 Tests. He was part of the West Indian team that won the inaugural World Cup. Kanhai played for West Indies from 1957 until 1974. He kept wickets in his first three Tests before Franz Alexander took over.

He was named a Wisden Cricketer of the Year the following spring. Rohan Kanhai scored 6,227 Test runs at 47.53 and registered 86 hundreds in first-class cricket.
