It is believed that they will exist until the end of the Kali Yuga (world ages). According to Hinduism, we are presently in Kali Yuga, the fourth, worst, and shortest of the yugas.
Chiranjivi are permanent lived beings in Hinduism who are to remain alive through this Kali Yuga until the next Satya Yuga. The term is a combination of chiram, or ‘permanent’, and jīvi, or ‘lived’. It is same as’amaratva, which refers to true immortality.
Chiranjivis are those people who are believed to be still alive throughout this Kali Yuga until the start of Satya Yuga. Chiranjivis is a Sanskrit word which is a combination of two words “Chiram” which means “long” and “Jivi” means “lived”. There are mainly Seven Chiranjeevis in Hinduism.
