The set-up is simple: just wander up the short, screened jetty to the flamingo hide, a shed-like observation room where you can pick up a pair of binoculars and peer out at the birds.

We took a tour with Big Bus Tours Dubaiwhich was included as part of our all attraction ticket. The tour sets off from Wafi Mall every afternoon and lasts about an hour; it also goes past the Ruling Family’s palace. I would have preferred a bit more time at the flamingo hide but it got us there easily and without spending any more money. A taxi fro...

  6. Feb 2022. Seeing the flamingoes is lovely and the back drop against the Dubai skyline is special. But note that the 2nd hide access on Ras Al Khor road is now shut due to roadworks. You can only enter from Oud Metha road and go to the main hide - which has a 10 min stay only.
