Alex Daniels was born in Columbia, South Carolina. He started his career as an actor in 1980 in the TV film A Rumor of War (with Michael Cavanaugh and Chris Mulkey). Eventually, he also started working as a stunt actor. For many years, he worked as David Hasselhoff's stunt double in Baywatch.
