Alison Maria Krauss (born July 23, 1971) is an American bluegrass-country singer, fiddler and producer. She entered the music industry at an early age, competing in local contests by the age of eight and recording for the first time at 14.

- She Was Once The Youngest Member Of The Opry. Since Krauss got an early start with her career, she managed to make a major impact on bluegrass and country music at a young age.
- She Has An Honorary Doctorate. To add to Krauss’ long list of accomplishments, she is also an honorary doctor! The Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts awarded Krauss with an Honorary Doctorate of Music in 2012.
In 1989, she released her first album with them as a group. So far, Alison has released fourteen albums that appeared on many soundtracks. Also, she sparked a renewed interest in bluegrass music in the United States.
Founded in 1985, the International Bluegrass Music Association Awards are awarded annually by the International Bluegrass Music Association. Krauss has received 14 awards, including two wins of the top honor: Entertainer of the Year. [6] In 2021, she was inducted into the association's International Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame.
